We raised funds to restore this 1958 studebaker Golden Hawk

This 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk was donated to Miles Through Time Automotive Museum by Dr. Karl Peace in January of 2021. This is one of 878 Golden Hawks ever made for 1958 and MTT is lucky enough to have this beautiful car donated to the museum.

What is museum quality?

When it comes to displaying vehicles at Miles Through Time Automotive Museum we don’t really have a requirement on the condition of the vehicle.  We look more for the story behind the vehicle to be able to share what makes it special for visitors to see.  This means we have some vehicles on display that are better than new and we have some on display that could use a full restoration, but we’ve chosen to display them as is.

In the case of the 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk on display at MTT. This car is really pretty nice, the interior is in great shape and the car runs fantastic.  It is really only the condition of the paint that the car could use some love. At some point in the car’s life, it was repainted and it hasn’t held up well.

MTT is super grateful that Dr. Karl Peace chose Miles Through Time to donate one of his vehicles to the museum and we’d like to give him and the car the honor of getting a fresh coat of shiny gold paint.

Since this Studebaker is such a rare special car the museum feels the car is worthy of a makeover. Once complete this will become another vehicle MTT can take to concourses and other large events to share with even more people and help promote the museum.

How are we going to Restore the Studebaker Golden Hawk?

The restoration of the Studebaker Golden Hawk has gotten a kick start thanks to a few donated project vehicles that have gone towards the restoration of the Studebaker.  The total project cost is $9,000 and the work will be completed by Tony Nelms in Watkinsville, Georgia.  MTT has already raised $4,000 for the project and only needs to raise $5,000 more within 6 months.

Miles Through Time is a 501c3 nonprofit EIN 61-1950451. All donations are tax-deductible.

The Golden Hawk Before Paint

Your donation will go towards restoring this 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk

Everyone that donates specifically to restore this Studebaker will be listed as a donor on this page and on signage that will be displayed with the car in the museum. You can also mail checks to 3651 Peachtree Pkwy Ste. E206 Suwanee, GA 30024, but please make sure you mark on your check the donation is specifically for the Studebaker.

The Studebaker Golden Hawk will be stripped down completely and repainted properly back to showroom “museum” quality.  The entire process is estimated to be complete in 6 months.
