How Miles Through Time Has Grown—And Why We Need Your Support

When Sean Mathis founded the museum in 2017, he had just one car—his grandfather’s 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. There was no collection, no funding, just a vision: to create a place where automotive history could live on and be shared.

From these humble beginnings, the museum has grown in incredible ways:

• 2017: Started in an 8,000-square-foot former Ford dealership in Toccoa, GA.
• 2019-2020: Moved to Clarkesville, GA, into a much larger space to accommodate its expanding collection.
• November 2021: Expanded again with the creation of Vintage Garage Antiques, a 17,000-square-foot antique shop that helps support the museum.
• May 2023: The museum expanded once more with a 4th gallery, increasing display capacity.
• Today: The museum now spans 30,000 square feet, plus the 17,000-square-foot antique shop.

Why We Need Your Help Now More Than Ever

While we’ve grown tremendously, the museum still faces a critical challenge: we don’t own our space.

As a non-profit without a wealthy backer, we are subject to increasing lease costs, which threaten our ability to continue expanding and preserving history. Our long-term goal is to secure a permanent home by 2028—one large enough to house the museum and Vintage Garage Antiques so that both can continue supporting each other.
