Day Trip From Greenville

Looking for a nice day trip?

Greenville, SC is a beautiful city and there are plenty of things to do in and around the city especially if you’re an automotive enthusiast. The BMW Car Club of America Foundation is right there in Greer, SC.

But if you’re looking to get outside of the city and maybe take a little cruise, you could cruise west to a nice little town called Clarkesville, GA. If you don’t know where Clarkesville is, it is near Helen, GA which is the 3rd most visited city in Georiga.

Clarkesville is slightly closer to Greenville, SC, but you could definitely visit both places in a day and still head home afterward if you wanted to.

Miles Through Time Automotive Museum will be a major destination for you inside of the Old Clarkesville Mill which is also home to a bowling alley, restaurant/bar, and Northeast Georgia’s largest Antique Mall.

Miles Through Time is only about an hour and a half from the heart of Greenville, SC near the border of South Carolina and Georgia.

The museum is home to planes, a train, and automobiles as well as historical artifacts, vintage pedal cars, bicycles, and 1500 model cars. There is also a town built out of reclaimed materials and rough-cut wood.

To access the museum you’ll enter through the rear entrance of the antique mall which enables the museum to be open 7 days a week from 11 to 6.

Currently, the museum takes up only 10,000 sqft of the old mill, but there are plans to expand into additional space inside the mill once it becomes available which will increase the museum to about 30,000 sqft. You’ll also get to browse through 70,000 sqft of antiques.

Miles Through Time Automotive Museum is a co-op-style nonprofit museum that relies heavily on donations and contributions from people and businesses.  To contribute to Miles Through Time click HERE.

When you visit the museum make sure you check-in on social media and tag the museum @milesthroughtime in your pictures.
