Helen, Georgia is a neat little Bavarian Town that has positioned itself as a destination for tourists. Helen is only an hour and a half from the heart of Atlanta which makes for a perfect road trip from the city.

If you’re coming from the east, Greenville, SC is only an hour and 45 minutes away from Helen. If you’re wanting to visit from the south, Athens is less than 1 and a half hours away.

This makes Helen, Ga the perfect day trip for those wanting to visit a really unique German-themed town.

Helen, Georgia is Georgia’s 3rd most visited city despite the fact that its population only has 430 residents in its 2.1 square miles.

Tubing

If it’s warm outside you may want to go tubing, typically between May and September. Check out Helen Tubing & Waterpark and Cool River Tubing, which drop you off and pick you up.

Waterfall

Who doesn’t love waterfalls?  You’ll want to hike Anna Ruby Falls.

Car Museum

For automotive enthusiasts, Miles Through Time Automotive Museum is a must.  The museum is located inside of the Old Clarkesville Mill, only 15 miles from the heart of Helen, GA. The mill is also home to northeast Georgia’s largest Antique Mall.

Ziplining

Looking for some adventure? Check out Nacoochee Adventures, where you can zipline, bike, swing on the giant swing, or challenge yourself on the course.
